We are please
to announce that Four Kornerz have confirmed their
attendance at Breakout 2008.
Four Kornerz presents an infectious
Gospel mix of Funk, Soul, R&B
and traditional Nigerian rhythms. The release of their highly anticipated
debut
album “Soulectric” in June 2007 was met with critical
acclaim from fans and industry insiders alike, earning the band
numerous prestigious award and nominations including a MOBO (music
of Black Origin) nomination for “Best Gospel Group” 2007
and a “Gold Award” from the Christian Broadcast Council
as “Best Gospel Album 2007”.

The lead single from the album “Gonna Make It” has already
scored a hit with the UK underground Garage scene, obtaining firm
support from major players like DJ EZ (London’s Kiss 100fm)
and Control-S. The album covers a wide spectrum of themes from the
socio-conscious anti –racism anthem “Conquerors”,
child abuse on “Let It Go” to party tracks like “Express
Train” and “Turn It Up” which features BBC Jazz
Award winner Dennis ‘Badbone’ Rollins.
Fronted by four
sibling brothers of Nigerian descent, Four Kornerz was officially
launched in 2004 with the release of their debut
single “Clap Clap” which placed the band on the UK
musical map, gaining constant airplay from stations across the
UK, including
BBC 1Xtra, BBC Radio 2, Choice FM and numerous other regional
radio shows across Europe, North America and Africa.
The band’s
reputation for delivering strong and exhilarating stage shows
has seen them headline at numerous key events like MTV
Europe’s Base Lounge (2005) where Four Kornerz’s
explosive set stole the night with the heart-stopping ballad “Cry
No More” and the signature Soul-Funk cut “Clap Clap”.
The show also featured UK R&B songstress Keisha White and
Mercury Music Prize winner Dizzee Rascal.
In June 2005 the band
beat over 400 other hopefuls in ITV London’s “Battle
of the Bands” to win a spot at the 02 Music Wireless
Festival headlined by such Alternative acts as New Order,
Basement Jaxx
and Kasabian.
For two years running (2005/2006), Four Kornerz
has been one of the headline acts on the landmark Young
Voices tour which
travels
across key arenas in the UK and Ireland with combined
audiences in excess of 100,000.
With a memorable artist collaboration
where Four Kornerz performed the classic “Lean On
Me” with
Joss Stone, Lemar and Ms Dynamite.
2007 saw Four Kornerz notch up a series of high profile
appearances including headlining along side Kirk Franklin
and Mary Mary
at the “Gospel
Gathering UK” in November 2007, the biggest Gospel
event in the UK.
October 2007 saw them hand picked as part
of an exclusive
line up artist for the “Best of British”;
an urban showcase festival that marked the re-opening
of the Historic Town Hall Birmingham,
by gathering the UK’s most promising and dynamic
acts from the British Urban genre.
Four Kornerz have also
appeared at a number of Europe locations ( Germany, France,
Holland, Ireland and Slovakia)
and additional
key festivals like Greenbelt, Decibel Showcase, 02 Wireless
